The Municipal Corporation has issued notices to two hotels Country Inn and Mariton over alleged violations of building and operational rules and according to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi both hotels have been asked to respond within 10 days and if they fail to give a satisfactory reply the administration may take strict action including sealing of the properties.

No valid completion certificates

The action comes after allegations that Country Inn hotel was started without a valid completion certificate and as per rules no large commercial building can begin operations without completing all required approvals including construction permits, safety clearances and final completion certification.

File cleared by MC

Sources also indicate that several other technical norms and administrative conditions may have been ignored which includes compliance related to building standards and operational permissions while following an inspection by vigilance officials multiple objections were reportedly raised and based on this further action was recommended at the administrative level and the file has been cleared by the Municipal Commissioner.

Properties might be sealed

The issue has raised concerns among local businessmen who are questioning how such violations could take place despite clear rules and the situation has also created uncertainty for customers with bookings at the hotels being affected and with this now final decision now depends on the response submitted by the hotel managements and if the reply is not satisfactory sealing of the properties could be the next step.
