The Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS, convened a high-level strategic meeting today at Police Lines, Jalandhar to strengthen crime prevention initiatives and ensure a safer environment for citizens.
The meeting was attended by senior officers, including the Joint CP, DCP Investigation, ADCP Investigation, ADCP Headquarters, and all ACPs, SHOs, and Unit In-Charges of the city.
Key Directives Issued
Comprehensive Crime Review: A detailed analysis of crime reports was conducted, with emphasis on actions taken against snatching, robberies, and other serious incidents. Detailed review of pending cases will be undertaken to ensure faster investigations and timely filing of charge sheets
Intensified Patrolling: Orders for intensified patrolling, to prevent theft, robberies, and other street crimes. Special emphasis on night patrolling and availability of police teams in vulnerable areas to deter criminal activities.
Special Operations: Targeted campaigns will be launched against organized crime, drug trafficking, and habitual offenders. Dedicated anti-harassment teams will be deployed near schools, colleges, and marketplaces to curb eve-teasing and harassment.
Traffic Management and Road Safety: She said that strict enforcement of traffic regulations will continue, with specific focus on drunken driving and over-speeding. Additional personnel will be deployed at accident-prone and high-traffic areas
Helpline Awareness Campaigns: Public awareness will be increased for helplines such as 112 (emergency) and 1091 (women’s helpline). Dedicated social media teams to enhance communication and provide real-time updates to citizens.
Strengthening the Cyber Cell & Technology Integration: Specialization of Cyber Cell to deal with financial frauds, identity theft, and online harassment. Trained personnel to tackle online fraud, identity theft, and financial crimes. Additionally, Enhanced use of CCTV surveillance and data-driven approaches to identify and apprehend criminals swiftly.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety and security of every citizen in Jalandhar. We must work collaboratively, with determination and integrity, to build a safer city,” the CP said while addressing.
