Filmy Boys took to its Instagram handle and wrote, "Our first full-fledged Feature film — where we’ve handled Production, Post-Production (Edit, Grade, Teaser, Trailer), Posters, Graphics… EVERYTHING has officially begun its journey."

Filmy Boys in an interview with True Scoop also talked about the film and their upcoming projects.

Film Director Kunwar Raj Singh, Filmy Boys explained that MCOCA at its core explores the limit of a brother’s endurance and the extent he can go to when something terrible happens to his sister at the hands of powerful people.

How did Filmy Boys' bag MCOCA?

Kunwar Raj Singh said, "The writer-director of the film, Ravinder Singh Pawar, who now goes by the screen name Qurbaan, came to us one day and narrated the story."

"From the very first narration, the conviction with which he told the story and the power of the idea itself left a deep impact on us. There was clarity, honesty, and fire in the script. We were on board with the film from Day One. Big thanks to the producers Laddi Dhillon and Dilpreet Chahal for trusting us as well."

Is MCOCA inspired by real incidents?

MCOCA is a fictional story, but it draws inspiration from the many wrongdoings that happen in and around our society every day. "The film reflects the harsh realities we often choose to ignore," said Raj Kunwar Singh.

"The core message of the film is simple yet powerful: no one wants to do wrong in life—it is the situation that pushes a person onto that path. The film questions morality, circumstances and the system that often leaves people with no choice."

What makes MCOCA different from other Punjabi films?

Kunwar Raj Singh said, "What truly sets MCOCA apart is the depth of characterisation and preparation. There has been massive groundwork done before going on set. For instance, the main characters are dholis, so every actor underwent proper training to learn how to play the dhol during pre-production."

"We did extensive recces to find authentic locations and interacted with real people from similar backgrounds to achieve the right look and feel. The film features a completely fresh star cast, with actors coming from strong theatre backgrounds."

"We are confidently backing MCOCA on its story, characters, realistic making and the sheer power of our performances, rather than relying on familiar faces."

'MCOCA is Filmy Boys’ first full-fledged feature film as a studio'

Kunwar Raj Singh further said, "When we decided to build Filmy Boys, our vision from day one was very clear—to create a studio where we direct, produce, write, and handle everything from pre-production to post-production in-house. We wanted to build teams and establish a complete film ecosystem, not just remain limited to music videos or individual projects."

'Filmy Boys becomes the first studio in Punjab to have pre-production to post-production'

"After completing MCOCA, Filmy Boys became the first studio in Punjab to have everything—from pre-production to post-production—under one roof. When the teaser and poster were released with our studio’s name, the entire team sat together, reminiscing about the first day and how far we’ve come."

"It was an emotional moment filled with gratitude, pride, and a renewed promise—to work with honesty, passion and a bigger vision."

At what moment did you realise that Filmy Boys was ready to become a full-scale production house?

The film-maker said that you never really feel fully ready for something big. But the moment you step into it, things begin to fall into place. When Qurbaan narrated MCOCA to us, we instinctively felt that this was the right subject to begin our journey as a full-scale production house. The story demanded commitment, scale, and belief—and that’s when we took the leap.

What’s next for Filmy Boys as a production house?

"MCOCA is definitely just the beginning. All I can say for now is that 2026 is going to be a big year for Filmy Boys. Several major projects are already streamlined, and very soon, everyone will start getting updates. The journey has just begun," said film-maker Kunwar Raj Singh.
