The mystery behind the murder of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi seems to be detangling with various new updates. Now a major revelation has been made as police investigations and CCTV footage from the Bahram Toll Plaza have confirmed that the shooter was Gurtaj Singh, a member of the Sonu Khatri gang. Reports reveal that Gurtaj had committed two murders within two months and police and several investigative agencies are currently searching for him. However it is noteworthy that no official confirmation has been made in the case and a probe is still ongoing.
Initially, the police considered Arjun and his brother as suspects in the case. However, CCTV cameras at the Bahram Toll Plaza have clarified the situation. CCTV footage shows the shooter, Gurtaj Singh, driving a Creta car. Gurtaj is a resident of MX Colony, Hoshiarpur, and is known among criminals for his unique firing style. He is considered an expert in using both hands simultaneously to aim accurately.
As per the investigation so far, it was revealed that the shooter was unfamiliar with the city’s routes and Lucky’s servant Shaminder Singh alias Shingri was the one who showed him the way from DC Colony to the outskirts of the city.
Reports tell that on December 16, 2025, he also shot Abdul Mohammad seven times in Hoshiarpur. As of now the police has recovered the Creta car that was used in the murder and a hunt is on to nab the shooter.
The police have earlier arrested Lucky Oberoi’s servant, Shingri during an encounter in Amritsar. It was revealed during the investigations that Lucky has beaten him up over some drug related quarrel following which he joined alliance with Joga Pholriwal and planned and executed this murder.
