Another major update has taken place in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi case who was murdered on February 6 outside a gurdwara in Jalandhar’s Model Town. Now, Amritsar Rural Police has arrested the key accused involved in the Lucky Oberoi murder case after a brief exchange of fire in Khasa area of Amritsar and recovered Beretta .30 bore pistol from his possession, said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Border Range Sandeep Goel. The arrested accused, identified as Shaminder Singh, a resident of Mithapur in Jalandhar, was driving Activa scooter. The latter is a previous offender and has a criminal history.
After this arrest new information has surfaced revealing new angles in the case unravelling reasons behind the enmity among deceased Lucky Oberoi and accused Joga Pholriwal. As per latest reports, Joga murdered Lucky to avenge the insult of his mother. Allegedly, Joga and Lucky were good friends before but eventually they drifted apart due to various reasons. Out of these one of the reasons which is coming to light is that Lucky had gone to Joga’s home and insulted his mother which fumed their enmity further.
Investigations suggest that Lucky’s movement was being tracked before and the information of the same was being given to the shooter. Lucky’s servant Shaminder Singh alias Shingri had a big role in this murder plot. Reports indicate that the servant was upset with Lucky’s recent behavior as Lucky had allegedly beaten him over a dispute over drugs. Following this, Shingri also held a grudge against him. Joga and Shingri got in touch and then planed and executed the entire murder plot to take revenge from him.
As per sources, Joga’s henchmen had left the city a day before Lucky’s murder, because Joga knew that after the murder police would become active and it would cause him difficulties so he made them all leave the city a day before as an precautionary measure.
As of now a hunt is on for the main shooter and police is committed to apprehend the accused in the case as soon as possible.
