The Municipal Corporation in Jalandhar has issued a notice to Mariton Hotel Jalandhar over alleged violations of building rules and the action comes after complaints claimed that the hotel started operating without getting a mandatory completion certificate and according to the notice sent by the Municipal Town Planner running a commercial building without a completion certificate is a violation of rules under the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act 1976 and officials have clearly told the hotel owner to submit the required certificate within 3 days.

No sewer line outside hotel

If the hotel fails to do so the Municipal Corporation has warned that sealing action may be taken against the building and officials also said that any costs involved in such action will have to be borne by the owner while in a separate communication under the RTI process officials also stated that there is no sewer line outside Mariton Hotel based on a report by the concerned engineering department and this has raised further questions around whether all required infrastructure and approvals were properly in place.
