
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Monday announced holidays in all colleges, universities and polytechnic institutes of the state. Bains stated that the decision has been taken keeping the continuous rainfall in mind.
The Education Minister also stated that the responsibility of the students living in hostels will be with respective administration. Bains also wrote that all institutions will have to strictly follow the guidelines.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on his official X handle wrote, "Due to continuous heavy rainfall across Punjab since last night, all colleges, universities, and polytechnic institutes will also remain closed till 3rd September 2025 with immediate effect.
The responsibility for the well-being of students residing in hostels lies with the respective administrations.
Everyone is requested to strictly follow the guidelines issued by local authorities."
It is pertinent to mention here that the Education Minister on Sunday had already announced that all schools of Punjab will remain closed till September 3. For those who are unaware, all schools of Punjab have been closed from August 26. On August 25, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann had announced Punjab School Holidays due to incessant rain, floods and worrying weather predictions in the state.
