ASHISHPURI

Today, around 12:30 PM, an incident of robbery took place on a PRTC bus that operates daily from Jalandhar to Sultanpur Lodhi via Sidhwan Dona–Mothanwala route.

Driver Pavittar Singh and conductor Malkit Singh of bus number PB-08-DG-5859 stated that they were making their usual 6–7 trips of the day. When the bus reached near Kular, a white old Honda City car carrying 3–4 individuals blocked the bus.

Two of them forcibly boarded the bus with knives and, after threatening the conductor, snatched approximately ₹800–900 from his bag. During the incident, one of the accused identified himself as “Jogi of Sidhwan” and threatened them with consequences if they reported the matter.

After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot. The bus staff immediately took the bus to the police post at Mothanwala and lodged a written complaint.

When contacted, ASI Surjit Singh, in-charge of Mothanwala police post, said that the complaint from the driver and conductor has been registered. The case is under investigation, efforts are being made to trace the vehicle, and the accused will be arrested soon.
