CT Group of Institutions has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety, security and well-being of its students following a brief incident involving a clash between two groups of students at its Shahpur campus on August 20.

The incident began after a medicine tablet was found in the food of a student in the campus mess. The students raised the concern with the canteen operator, following which an argument broke out and subsequently escalated into a brief clash between the groups. There were reports of minor damage to property.

The situation was immediately taken care of by the campus management, security personnel and administrative officials. Senior police officers, along with a police team, also reached the campus, questioned students from both groups and looked into the matter. The coordinated intervention ensured that the situation was brought under control promptly and normalcy was restored.

Speaking on the matter, Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, CT Group, said, “Safety of our students matters the most. We take every concern raised by our students with utmost seriousness. The situation was promptly brought under control, and we are pleased to clarify that no student was hurt. We understand that such an incident can cause concern among students and parents, and we assure them that the institution is taking every necessary step to ensure their safety and well-being.”

As an immediate corrective measure, CT Group has constituted dedicated committees to review the circumstances surrounding the incident, examine the food and mess-related concerns and ensure that student grievances are addressed promptly. The committees will coordinate with the concerned departments, mess management and student representatives to identify gaps and recommend necessary corrective action.

As part of the preventive measures, the institution is strengthening monitoring and supervision of mess operations, food quality and hygiene protocols, while also enhancing mechanisms through which students can report concerns directly to the administration. Regular checks and reviews will be undertaken to ensure that established food-safety and student-welfare protocols are followed effectively.

The management has also clarified that there was no religious angle to the dispute and that the incident arose from a disagreement related to the food-related concern.

CT Group has reassured students and parents that the campus remains safe and secure and that the institution will continue to closely monitor the situation. The management, security team, administrative officials and police authorities worked together to ensure that the matter was handled responsibly and normalcy was restored without delay.
