It seems like a long weekend is loading for Punjab Schools. Schools and offices in Punjab are all set to be observe at least 2 days holidays. While Government offices in Punjab are undoubtedly observe a 3-day long weekend- Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Government schools in Punjab will remain closed on Sunday and Monday i.e. on September 21 and September 22.
The only government declared public holiday in Punjab in the month of September is on 22. Punjab Public Holiday on September 22 is to mark the occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. Maharaja Agrasen was a legendary king and the founder of the Agrawal community.
Therefore on September 22 i.e. on Monday, government offices and schools will remain closed statewide.
It is said that all private schools of Punjab will also observe holiday on September 22. In fact, a few private schools in Jalandhar have already holidays on September 22.
