New advertisement boards across Jalandhar’s prime locations are part of a fresh outdoor media plan that is now bringing in significant revenue for the Municipal Corporation after years of stagnation and speaking on the development Mayor Vaneet Dhir said that the advertising contract has been handed over to a new company and talking more about it he highlighted that for nearly 10 years the city was not earning any meaningful revenue from outdoor advertisements but now after hiring the new firm around Rs 17 crore including GST has been received giving a major financial boost to the civic body.
As per the detailed outdoor media plan a total of 13 large advertisement boards have been installed across key high-traffic locations in the city and these include major junctions and commercial hotspots such as BMC Chowk Flyover Exit, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Model Town Market, Guru Amardass Chowk, Manbro Chowk, Nakodar Road, PPR Market, Jyoti Chowk near Civil Hospital, Kapurthala Road and outside prominent places like MBD Mall and Chunmun Mall.
All the boards fall under the “cantilever” category which means they are large elevated structures designed for maximum visibility and each board is sized at approximately 20x10 feet making them clearly visible to commuters and pedestrians an according to the plan these boards are currently “non-lit” meaning they do not have lighting installed yet.
The campaign is scheduled to begin from May 17, 2026 marking the official rollout of this new advertising strategy and officials say these locations were carefully selected because of their heavy traffic flow and commercial importance ensuring higher visibility for advertisers and better revenue generation for the city and the structured placement also indicates a shift from the earlier unorganised system to a more planned and revenue-focused approach.
