Not only this, but a non-bailable warrant has also been issued against Sukhbir Singh Badal. Non-bailable warrant was issued against him after he failed to appear before the court.

The court passed the order while hearing a complaint filed in 2017 by Rajinder Pal Singh (RP Singh) of Mohali, spokesperson of the religious organisation Akhand Kirtani Jatha. The case was registered under Section 499 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Complainant RP Singh had alleged that the SAD chief made defamatory statements to media channels, claiming that Akhand Kirtani Jatha was a political front of the banned terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International.

At that time, Badal had passed a remark when AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal visited RP Singh's house. Badal had said that the AAP leader was "eating food at the house of terrorists." This remark led to the filing of defamation case.
