Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday reacted strongly to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the residence of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal in Jalandhar and alleged that the action was politically motivated.
In a post on X Mann claimed that the BJP had started preparing for the upcoming Punjab elections and suggested that central agencies were being used for political purposes and he also described the raid as a “typical Modi style” of functioning.
AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal also reacted to the development and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started preparations for elections in Punjab but added that the people of the state will not tolerate this and will give a strong reply to the BJP.
The ED had earlier carried out raids at Mittal’s residence and other premises and so far officials have not given any detailed reason for the action and the investigation is still ongoing.
