Body found along busy Sadiq Road
An unidentified man, believed to be around 45 years old, was found dead along the roadside near Giani Zail Singh Market in Faridkot on the first day of the Baba Sheikh Farid Aagman Purab.
The body was found near the wall of a medical hospital, around 200 metres from the residence of Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon. The severely injured condition of the man's face has raised suspicion that he may have died after being struck by a heavy object.
Police begin investigation
Soon after the discovery, PCR personnel and City 2 police reached the spot and took the body into custody. Police have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
DSP Faridkot Tarlochan Singh said the identity of the deceased has not yet been established. He said that, at first glance, it appeared that the man could have died after a heavy object struck his face.
A forensic team has also been called to the scene, while investigators are examining the case from different angles.
Identity of deceased yet to be established
Police have not confirmed whether the death was the result of a deliberate attack or another incident. The exact cause of death will be established through the investigation and forensic examination.
DSP Tarlochan Singh said that further action would be taken based on the facts that emerge during the probe.

The body was discovered on a busy road with regular public movement, while Faridkot is hosting a five-day heritage festival and security personnel have been deployed across the city.
The circumstances in which the unidentified man died, particularly the serious injuries to his face, have drawn attention to the case. Police are now working to establish the man's identity, determine how he died and reconstruct the events leading up to the discovery of the body.
