Varinder Ghuman's family to organize candle March in Jalandhar seeking justice

A candle march will be held today in Jalandhar in tribute to the deceased Punjabi bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman who passed away recently at the Fortis Hospital in Amritsar under suspicious circumstances.

The candle march will commence from Nikku Park, Model Town, at 7 PM and will conclude at Guru Nanak Mission Chowk. Friends, family. Varinder’s family expects fitness enthusiasts from across the state to participate in the march to demand a fair investigation of Ghuman's death.

On 6 October Ghuman was admitted in Fortis Hospital with pain and restricted movement in his right shoulder. On 9 October, Ghuman was operated upon for an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and biceps tendodesis. Hospital officials asserted the surgery was successful, and Ghuman's status was stable until he suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrhythmia and expired 3 hours following the surgery.

The family, who conducted his last rites, also refused the post-mortem.

But in the latest release, they raised serious doubts about his untimely death, particularly why he turned blue and if there was negligence during the treatment. Now they have demanded the operation theatre footage from the hospital for clarity and accountability.
