It has been over 24 hours since 3 robbers carried out heist in Jalandhar's Bhargav Camp area in Vijay Jewellers. Although all the three accused have been identified, Police are yet to arrest the robbers and recover the stolen goods.

In the meantime, women members of the Vijay Jewellers family reached the local police station on Friday. Irked by the non arrest of robbers till now, the women staged protest outside the police station

One of the protesting woman said, "Give us back our items, where should we go? Where can we repay our debts?"

In protest the women closed the police station doors. The family stated that they wanted justice, otherwise they would stage a sit-in protest. The family also stated that when they staged a protest outside Bhargava Camp Police Station, the ACP called them to his office.

The shop owner claimed that the station in-charge called him to the police station at 11 am yesterday and promised to arrest the accused by 11 am today. However, when he arrived, he found the station empty. The station in-charge was also not present. Angry over this, people also started raising slogans.

Jalandhar Bhargav Camp Robbery

The Bhargav Camp robbers identities have been confirmed and their photos have also been accessed. The robbers who have been identified are named- Kushal, Gagan and Karan. One of the accused is specially-abled.

As per reports, the three robbers stole 850 grams of gold jewellry and Rs 2.25 lakh in cash from Vijay Jewellers in the main market Bhargava Camp. The robbers committed the crime in minutes. The jewellry is valued at Rs 95,11,500. It means, the robbers committed the heist of approximately Rs 97 lakh.

Shop owner Ajay stated that the robbers took eight gold sets, 12 gold chains, a bracelet, two ladies' bracelets, rings, and gold tops, weighing approximately 850 grams.

As soon as the robber (Kushal) arrived, he pointed a pistol at him, and Nikhil, who was sitting in the shop, ran for his life.

Kushal then handed the pistol to his accomplice, who was already armed with a chisel. The robber repeatedly threatened to shoot Nikhil and extracted the cash.

Pointing a pistol, he threatened not to call. The robbers remained in the jewellry shop for minutes, threatening the lives of Nikhil and his servant, Sanjay. Sanjay, already frightened, stood in a corner inside the shop.

Kushal is said to be the prime accused in the case. He lives near the Bhargava Camp police station. His two accomplices, Gagan and Karan, are residents of Chapli Chowk, Bhargava Camp. Karna has a criminal record. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted murder and has been released on bail after serving four years.

Gagan was jailed for liquor smuggling.

Ajay Kumar, a resident of Zero Street in Avtar Nagar, said that his son Nikhil opened his shop around 10:15 a.m. About half an hour later, three masked robbers burst into the shop. His son was sitting at the counter while Sanjay, a craftsman, was inside. The son ran inside, and the robbers pointed a pistol at him. One of the robbers had a bag and a chisel. They threatened his son and stole 25,000 rupees from his pocket and 200,000 rupees from the counter.
