An incident of open firing has been reported from Bhullar village in Amritsar where a 32-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants and the deceased has been identified as Manjit Singh who was married and had four children.

Sources said that around four bullets were fired out of which three hit Manjit Singh and he was seriously injured and died on the spot.
Locals say that old enmity is believed to be the main reason behind the murder and as per information shared by Malkit Singh there was a dispute between Manjit Singh and another party in 2024 following which an FIR was also registered in that matter under Section 452 and since then tensions had continued between the two sides.
Police officials reached the spot soon after the incident and started the investigation and they have recovered empty bullet shells from the scene.
