14th Season of IPL: Know the four Indian players out of total five batsmen who scored 5000 runs

The 14th season of the world’s biggest league, the Indian Premier League will start on 9 April, and the final will be played on 30 May. It’s been 13 years since the inception of IPL. Since then, only five batsmen have been able to score more than 5000 runs.

Out of these five batsmen, four are Indian and only one foreign cricketer has scored 5,000 plus runs in IPL. These 4 Indian batsmen are Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and Shikhar Dhawan. The foreign player on the list is David Warner.

Talking about the record of maximum sixes in IPL, West Indies player Chris Gayle is the one to name this record to himself.  West Indies batsman Chris Gayle also holds the record for scoring the best score in a match in 2013.

Top five scores in IPL:

Since the inception of IPL in 2008, it has been 13 seasons and only five batsmen have been able to score more than 5000 runs. Of these four batsmen are Indian, including names like are Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and Shikhar Dhawan. The foreign player to record such a high score is David Warner.

Virat Kohli has scored 5,878 runs in 192 matches, an average of 38.16. Suresh Raina has an average of 33.34 with 193 matches scoring 5,368 runs. Rohit Sharma has scored 5,230 runs in 200 matches with an average of 31.31. With 5,197 runs in 176 matches; Shikhar Dhawan has an average of 34.41. The fifth batsman David Warner has the highest average of 42.71. Warner has scored 5254 runs in 142 matches.

Cricketers with quickest hundreds:

The top five players with the record of quickest hundred are Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, David Miller, Adam Gilchrist, and Yusuf Pathan. Chris Gayle had scored a century in 30 balls in 2013. Yusuf Pathan, the only Indian in the top five had scored a hundred in 37 balls in 2010. David Miller had managed to score a century in 38 balls in 2013. In 2008, Adam Gilchrist had scored a hundred in 42 balls. , AB de Villiers took 43 balls to score a century in 2016.

Best scorers in IPL:

Brendon McCullum scored 158 runs in the match against RCB in 2008. AB de Villiers managed to score 133 runs in 2015, playing against MI. KL Rahul scored 132 runs in a match against RCB in 2020. In 2013, Chris Gayle scored 175 runs. Gayle tops the list of best scorers and still has this record for the past 7 years.

Players to achieve 11 plus sixes in one inning:

Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, AB de Villiers, Sanath Jayasuriya, Murali Vijay, Andre Russell are the cricketers to score 11 plus sixes in one inning. Chris Gayle tops the list with 17 sixes, scored in 2016.

Players with 13 times zero out:

Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, and Ajinkya Rahane are the players with 13 times zero outs in IPL matches.

Players with maximum sixes:

Shikhar Dhawan tops the list with 591 fours in 176 matches. David Warner has scored 510 fours in 142 matches and Virat Kohli has managed to score 503 fours in 192 matches.
