The IPL 2022 mega auction has been concluded with 10 franchises spending approx Rs 5,51,70,00,000 (Rs 5.52 billion approximately) on a total of  204 players including 67 overseas. However, fans are not happy with the MS Dhoni-led CSK squad for buying a particular player. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been under the scanner of social media ever since it has not bought Suresh Raina. However, this time fans have raised a more serious issue and started trending #Boycott_ChennaiSuperKings. 

Fans slammed IPL defending champions for buying Sri Lankan spin sensation Maheesh Theekshana who is also called 'new Ajantha Mendis'. Now, for those who are wondering why MS Dhoni-led squad CSK is facing the ire of social media and #Boycott_ChennaiSuperKings despite the fact that the 'Yellow Army' bought one of the strongest teams in the IPL 2022 mega auction. 

Fans are unhappy with the CSK for buying  Maheesh Theekshana who is also part of the Sir Lankan army. CSK bought  Maheesh Theekshana at a price INR 70 lakhs and following this, people on social media started criticising the 'Men In Yellow' for buying a 'Sinhala' player whose army were involved in the massacre of the Tamils. Fans also outlined that CSK hardly bought any Tamil player but it bid for a player who belonged to 'Sinhala Army' who were involved in the genocide of the Tamils.
