Chelsea dominated the game from the start, with Werner squandering a clear chance inside the six-yard box after misjudging a drilled cross from Lukaku on six minutes.

Following a whipped cross from defender Thiago Silva, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen repaid Chelsea's early pressure by volleying the ball past Malmo goalkeeper Johan Dahlin. It was the Dane's first goal for the club in 137 games since making his senior debut in 2014.

Chelsea continued to dominate the game, with midfielder Jorginho converting a penalty to double his side's advantage after Lukaku was pulled down.

Midfielder Kai Havertz chipped replacement goalkeeper Ismael Diawara before Jorginho converted his second penalty of the night on 57 minutes, extending Thomas Tuchel's advantage even further.

Chelsea is now second in Group H, three points behind leaders Juventus, who defeated Zenit St. Petersburg on Wednesday.

Chelsea's next Premier League match comes on Saturday at Stamford Bridge against Norwich City, with a 12.30pm kick-off.
