Just hours until Tottenham's first match against Vitesse under their new manager, Antonio Conte has chosen his new backroom staff. Ryan Mason has been confirmed as a part of Tottenham's first-team coaching staff.

Cristian Stellini, Gianluca Conte, Costantino Coratti, Gian Piero Ventrone, and Stefano Bruno have been named as Conte's new assistants. Stellini, who worked with Antonio at Juventus, will be Conte's No. 2 and Assistant Head Coach. Antonio's brother, Gianluca Conte, will be the Technical & Analytics Coach and the other three will all be fitness coaches.

Ryan Mason has been promoted to First Team Coach from his previous position and will serve as Head of Player Development in the academy and interim manager at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Between the sacking of Jose Mourinho and the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Mason served as the interim manager for six weeks, winning four of his seven Premier League games and securing Europa League qualification on the final day of the campaign.

Despite his young age, he has played alongside some of Tottenham's best players, including Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane and is a respected figure in the Tottenham lockerroom.

The 30- year old Mason is all set to take another big step in his journey as a coach, which began after he was forced to retire prematurely in 2018 due to a serious head injury he sustained while playing at Hull.

Conte would've been able to watch Mason lead training the previous two days. Conte's consideration of Mason for this important position is a significant promotion and expression of trust. Mason is said to have a good football brain.

Conte's new coaching staff will be in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dugout for the evening's Europa League match. Conte received his work permit this morning, letting him work with his players in training for the first time today.
