
TheNarendra Modi Stadium in Motera will be filled up to 50 per cent of itscapacity during the five-match T20I series between India and England thatstarts on Friday, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) said.
"Consideringthe COVID-19 pandemic, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has decided to useonly 50 per cent capacity of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for thefive T20 Internationals to be played here between India and England from March12, 2021 to March 20, 2021.
Allthe COVID-19 related precautions have been taken and all standard operatingprocedures (SOPs) are being followed," said the GCA in its statement.
"Upto 50% tickets will be issued on the online and offline ticketing platforms forthese matches," GCA vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani said.
TheGCA further said that the stadium, which also hosted the third and fourth Testsbetween India and England in February and March, has been sanitised. "AllCOVID-19 guidelines are being strictly adhered to and special task forcecommittees have been set up to ensure that all required safety measures areimplemented and followed," said the GCA.
Thefirst T20I will be followed by the second match on March 14, the third on March16, the fourth T20I on March 18 and the fifth on March 20.
