South Africa on Wednesday defeated Team India by 31 runs in the three-match ODI series and took a lead of 1-0.  Fans witnessed another batting collapse of Team India after the Test series. Apart from losing the first ODI against South Africa, Team India fans were left disappointed yet again after Virat Kohli was dismissed on a well-made 51 runs off 63 balls with the help of 3 boundaries. In his solid innings of 51 runs, Virat looked rock-solid, however, his Midas touch to counter-attack the opposition was seen lacking.

Now, former South African speedster Allan Donald has come in support of 'King Kohli' and is hopeful that the former Indian skipper is on the right track to score his 71st century. Allan Donald also drew mentioned Steve Smith's name and stated that the Australian stalwart is also struggling with his batting ever since his return into international cricket after the sandpaper gate scandal.

Furthermore, Donald lauded the South African bowling attack who were successful to keep Virat Kohli and other Team India batters quiet during the run-chase. "I'm not sure if Virat was exposed technically, but South Africa hammered away at the basic areas and let the pitch do the business when bowling to him. The bowlers piled on the basic pressure really well," said Alland Donald.

Speaking on Virat Kohli's lean patch, Donald said, "Is Virat invincible? No. But even the greatest have gone through a slump, as the game is a great leveller. Even Steve Smith hasn't really been on fire since his comeback after the ball-tampering issue. I know Virat's standards and I'm sure he will be back at some point. It won't take long."
