A few days back, Rishabh Pant was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, after being airlifted from Dehradun, for immediate intervention on one of the two ligament tears in his knee. He was examined by doctors upon reaching the Mumbai hospital on Wednesday evening and was in stable condition. Amidst the cricketer's treatment, a picture of Team India skipper Rohit Sharma went viral on social media saying that the cricketer has donated blood to Rishabh Pant after the accident.

Sharing Rohit Sharma's picture from the hospital, one of the users wrote on Twitter, "He met Pant to donate the blood in emergency as doctors said they needed a person with same blood group immediately , Rohit Sharma the definition of Leader and Saviour "

Now, the question arises whether netizens are correct in saying that Rohit Sharma donated his blood or not. The answer is no. Rohit Sharma's photo from the hospital is not new and it was posted years back. Rohit Sharma shared his picture way back on November 11, 2016. In his tweet, Rohit Sharma wrote, "All went well. Thank you for your good wishes. Can't wait to be back at it.โ€ This picture was reportedly taken after Sharma underwent surgery in London to treat a thigh injury that he sustained during the final ODI against New Zealand in 2016. This proved that the photo was old.

In fact, Rohit Sharma was not even in India when Rishabh Pant's accident took place. As per reports, Rohit Sharma was enjoying a family vacation with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter Samaira in the Maldives in the run-up to New Yearโ€™s Eve. Furthermore, Sharma is not part of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka that began on January 3 but will return to lead the Men In Blue in the ODIs.
