The countdown for the IPL Mega Auction 2022 has begun and ten franchises are all set to go into the bidding war to sign their preferred choice of players. A total of 1,214 players have registered their names for the mega auction, which is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Of those 1,214 players, 896 are Indians and 318 are overseas players. According to a press release issued by the BCCI, the list includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped, and 41 associate players from 10 different nations.  Notably, IPL 2022 will be a bigger season as compared other with the inclusion of two new franchises i.e. Ahmedabad and Lucknow. 

Now, various news reports have suggested that Ahmedabad franchises have picked their name and the Hardik Pandya-led squad will be called 'Ahmedabad Titians'. However, there has not been any official confirmation by the franchises or by the IPL Governing council.  It is pertinent to mention here that the Ahmedabad franchise are yet to unveil their logo. The Ahmedabad franchise, which was bought by CVC Capital Partners, have picked Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill alongside Hardik Pandya ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The 28-year-old Hardik, who has only played for Mumbai Indians till now, will be leading an IPL franchise for the first time.
