The day-night test between India and England is being played at the world's largest Narendra Modi cricket stadium. On the second day of the match, Team India lost the sixth wicket for 117 runs in the first innings.  India took a lead over England in the first innings. The English team had scored 112 runs in the first innings.

Team India started the second day by playing 99 runs for 3 wickets. The team added 18 runs to the account that Ajinkya Rahane (7 runs), Rohit Sharma (66 runs), and Rishabh Pant (1) returned to the pavilion. Jack Leach LBW Rahane and Rohit. His wicket was taken by Jack Crowley at the ball of Jofra Archer. After this, Cheteshwar Pujara could not even open the account and spinner Jack Leach LBWed him.
