Apple accepted that its flagship phones are overheating after millions of complaints worldwide. Talking about the iPhone 15 overheating reason, Apple reportedly said there was a bug when updating iOS 17 on the phone. However, it also claimed that changes to third-party apps are "causing them to overload the system".

Apple in its statement said, "We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhones to run warmer than expected...This includes a bug in iOS 17 which is the latest version of Apple's software which is accessible for its most recent models." Apple further said, "another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system," and it is working with app developers on fixes that are in the process of being rolled out.

Apple pointed out three basic apps that are used by almost everyone in their smartphones. Bloomberg quoted an Apple spokesperson who informed that Instagram, Uber, and the game Asphalt 9 are apps that could cause the devices to "run warmer than normal." This is likely due to the fact that they are high-intensity apps that require video streaming, location services and Wi-Fi. A separate report quoted another Apple spokesperson who informed that the overheating will be fixed once iOS 17.1 arrives.
