IPL 2021: CSK triumphs over RR, return to 2nd spot on the table points

CSK has been able to restrict RR at 143 for 9 in 20 overs and has shown they are still in the game despite losing their season opener to Delhi Capitals.

Chennai Super Kings on Monday has triumphed over Rajasthan Royals in the thirteenth match of the Indian Premier League on Monday night at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. 

This wins credit goes to Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja after they projected their spin-bowling performance to the RR to defend 188 run-target with ease to return to the 2nd spot on the IPL 2021 table points. 

On the dry pitch, Moeen Ali has been able to take 3 wickets for 7 runs while Jadeja took 2 wickets on 28 runs. In the middle- spin overs, RR lost their 5 significant wickets including that of Jos Buttler (49), David Miller (2), and Chris Morris (0). Notably, MS Dhoni-led CSK continuously reminded his bowlers of the benefit of the dry pitch to catch some extra wickets to win the match.

RR, however, started off their innings well against CSK Deepak Chahar, could not make it as Sanju Samson's major wicket was lost to Sam Curran in the powerplay. Later, Jos Butler tried to maintain the pace but Jadeja took his wicket and shattered the hopes of CSK.
