IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians stroll past 70 in mere 8 overs against KKR

In another breakthrough, Suryakumar Yadav smashed six in high spirits on the delivery of Prasidh Krishna.

In the fifth match of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians is playing against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai. The toss was won by KKR's Eoin Morgan, who opted to bowl against Mumbai Indians. 

To give an amazing start to the match, KKR launched veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh first who just gave 3 runs in the first over to Mumbai Indians openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock. 

KKR's Varun Chakravarthy in his first over of today's match took the major wicket of Quinton de Kock, who replaced Chris Lynn in the batting order, hit the ball straight to Rahul Tripathi at long on for 2 on 6 balls. 

Later, Suryakumar Yadav joined Rohit Sharma in the field and smashed three boundaries on the bowling of Harbhajan Singh. Notably, in the second over from Bhajji, MI steals 14 runs. For the next over, left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan started well and gave merely 4 runs to the batsmen. By the end of the fourth over, MI stood at 28 /1.

Powerplay's final over was thrown by Pat Cummins in which Suryakumar Yadav hit another boundary and in total filled the pockets of MI with 5 runs. 

In another breakthrough, Suryakumar Yadav smashed six in high spirits on the delivery of Prasidh Krishna. In Krishna's first over against MI, the latter strived to get 16 runs including one six and 2 fours. 

At the time of writing, Mumbai Indians had scored 71/1  in 9.1 overs.
