IPL 2021: RCB win season opener against Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets

The match saw dramatic u-turns and even a super-over was anticipated.

AB de Villers has strived hard to end the match on a good note, however, he had to depart before facing the last ball of the 19th over. RCB had to beat the target score of 159 set by Mumbai Indians which they eventually did when Harshal Patel was joined by Shiraz Mohammed in the field. 

RCB has won the season opener by two wickets against Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. 

During the match, RCB lost eight wickets including Virat Kohli, Glen Maxwell, Washington Sundar, Rajat Patidar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dan Christian, Kyle Jamieson, AB de Villiers.  

After Mumbai Indians set a target of 160 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team starts off the game warmly. RCB's batting was opened by captain Virat Kohli with Washington Sundar.

Notably the first over was thrown by Trent Boult, in which RCB managed for 10 runs. Then the team was attacked by Jasprit Bumrah's over and saw 5 runs only. In Boult's second over total 6 runs were made by the Kohli-Sundar duo with 1 4 0 10 0 and the boundary hit by Kohli himself. 

For the next over MI sent young pacer Marco Jansen, and the batsmen acquired 14 runs in his first over-thrown in the IPL 2021. 

In an attack, Krunal Pandya took the wicket of Washington Sundar. It was indeed a breakthrough for MI to get the pace set for RCB. Rajat Patidar joined Kohli for the other throws, however, he was departed by Trent Boult for an 8( 8) in the power play. Later, the match saw dramatic u-turns but, RCB made it today.
