IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Shahrukh Khan wants to emulate 'Idol' MS Dhoni; 'want to become a finisher'

Ahead of the India-West Indies series and IPL 2022 mega-auction, Shahrukh Khan in an interview expressed his admiration for MS Dhoni

The countdown has begun for the IPL 2022 mega auction as all the 10 franchises will go into the bidding war to sign their preferred players on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. The IPL governing council shared a list on Tuesday and announced that a total of 590 cricketers across the globe will go under the hammer at the IPL 2022 mega auction.  As per the  IPL’s official website, the list contains the names of 228 capped players while 355 players are uncapped and the other seven players belong to the Associate Nations. 

However, ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction, Team India will lock horns with the West Indies in ODI as well the T20 series. For the limited over series, the BCCI has already announced an 18 member squad and furthermore has named Tamil Nadu power-hitter Shahrukh Khan in reserve players' list. Now, ahead of the India-West Indies series and IPL 2022 mega-auction, Shahrukh Khan in an interview with Times of India expressed his admiration for MS Dhoni and shared that he wants to be a finisher like him in the future. 

Shahrukh Khan said, "I idolise MS And want to finish games the way he did for India. I've always looked up to MS and I want to become a finisher like him." Furthermore, Shahrukh Khan also talked about his mindset when he goes to finish a game and stated that he never thinks about his own performance but about the team's performance. And by doing that he does not feel pressure at all. 


Shahrukh Khan also talked about the upcoming IPL 2022 mega-auction and stated that he is currently not thinking about that. He further said that he will grab the opportunity from wherever it comes and he has learned a lot during his stint with the Punjab Kings.

Notably, Shahrukh Khan has kept his base price in the IPL 2022 mega-auction at Rs 40 lakh. Last year, Shahrukh Khan's base price was Rs 20 lakhs, however, he was bought at a whopping  INR 5.25 Crores contract with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise for the IPL 2021.
