The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to take place in India, confirmed an official of the BCCI on Saturday. As per various reports, BCCI sources have confirmed that the upcoming IPL 2022 will take place in India and also stated that the matches will be played under closed doors. Furthermore, the sources also stated that Mumbai can get the opportunity to host most of the matches. However, the official announcement by the BCCI and the IPL governing council is yet to come. IPL 2021 had to be shifted to the UAE midway after multiple cases of COVID were reported in various franchises.

Meanwhile, cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions where 10 franchises will bid for their choice of players. It is to be noted that in IPL 2022, 10 franchises are participating with the inclusion of two new teams i.e. Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Ahmedabad will be captained by ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya while Lucknow will be captained by KL Rahul.
