Chennai Super Kings, one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League, had a very disappointing performance last season. Last year, CSK failed to make it to the playoff round for the first time in the IPL. Looking at the disappointing performance of the IPL 2020, team captain MS Dhoni announced several major changes. A glimpse of these changes can be seen in the auction to be held on February 18.

CSK has released veteran players like Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jadhav, and Piyush Chawla before the start of this season. Due to the departure of these players, there has been a shortage of spinners and such middle-order batsmen in the team who can also bowl when needed. Chennai Super Kings has a total of 7 slots left. Dhoni's team can buy 6 Indian and one foreign player to fill these slots. Chennai has already strengthened their base from Robin Uthappa to Rajasthan Royals.

CSK is eyeing big bets on a foreign player. Glenn Maxwell sits the most fit in Chennai's plan. With Maxwell coming, Chennai's middle order will be strengthened. With this, Maxwell's off-spin bowling will give Dhoni an additional option. Apart from Maxwell, Moeen Ali can also prove to be a better option for Dhoni.

Apart from the all-rounder, CSK may try to strengthen their opening batting. Jason Roy, Davin Malan, Finch are the players CSK can bet on. Lukman Meriwala, Chetan Sakaria, Shivam Dubey will also be watched by Dhoni's team.
