The Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost due to be held in April after a month. Before this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has to decide the schedule and venue of the tournament. Discussions are still going on about this. Sources had said that all group matches can be held at 3 stadiums in Mumbai and play-off matches at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

However, now a senior BCCI official told the news agency that it is not possible to have all group matches in Mumbai in view of the ever-increasing cases of Corona. The board is currently monitoring 4-5 Venues.

According to the official, "Some stadiums like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata are all set to get IPL. There can be play-offs and finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad".

The 14th season of the IPL can begin from the second week of April. The previous tournament was postponed due to Corona. The 13th season was then held in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November at the end of the year. Then in the final, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals to win the title for the 5th time.

Recently, Delhi Capitals team co-owner Parth Jindal said that I think we should make IPL in most cities of the country. Along with this, it will also give the world the message that we are also ready for the T20 World Cup to be held in October. I think they (BCCI) are yet to wait. I believe that the board is looking at the current situation of Corona in the country and will take a decision accordingly.
