FormerPunjab Cabinet Minister, Navjot Sidhu, who has been up in arms against thePunjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh over sacrilege and police firing cases, hasnow come out in support of MLA Pargat Singh after he alleged receiving a threatcall from CM’s political advisor.
JalandharCantt MLA Pargat Singh on Monday during a press conference alleged that hereceived a call from Punjab CM’s Political Advisor Captain Sandeep Sandhu, who threatened him of a police case for raising voice against the CM on the issue of sacrilegeand police firing.
Reactingto the development, Navjot Sidhu while sharing a video clipping of PargatSingh, tweeted, “Ministers, MLAs & MPs raising People’s Issues arestrengthening the Party, fulfilling their Democratic Duty & exercisingtheir Constitutional Right... But everyone who speaks the truth becomes yourenemy. Thus, you threaten your party colleagues, exhibiting your fear &insecurity".
Notjust this, even Congress MP Partap Bajwa on Monday came out in support ofPargat Singh and in a series of tweets said, "Would have been pleasing tothe eyes and ears of Punjabi's had the Vigilance knocked at the doors ofBadal’s for their acts of omission & commission from 2007- 2017. Suddenspurt against Sidhu and colleagues is ill advised, ill timed & detrimentalto interest of the Congress.''
“Istand with him & his democratic right to speak about issues affectingPunjab. This continuous attempt to browbeat INC MLAs for raising their voicemust stop”, he added.
