Neeraj Chopra receives cute puppy named ‘TOKYO’ as a gift from Abhinav Bindra

Neeraj Chopra was given a Golden Retriever puppy named Tokyo by Abhinav Bindra, who also wished him luck in the next Olympics.

On Wednesday afternoon, India's only two individual gold medalists in the Olympics came together, with Abhinav Bindra, the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medalist, welcoming Neeraj Chopra, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal winner, at his farmhouse near Zirakpur.

Chopra has been busy since winning gold in the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Olympics on August 7 last month, according to sources, and could finally see Bindra on Wednesday. Bindra gave Chopra a Golden Retriever puppy named Tokyo and wished him in the next Olympics.

“Was a pleasure to meet and interact with India’s golden man @neeraj_chopra1 ! I hope that “Tokyo” will be a supportive friend and motivate you to get a sibling named Paris for him in 2024!”.Bindra posted a photo of himself gifting Neeraj "Tokyo" on Wednesday afternoon.

Chopra tweeted about the meet later in the evening, while Bindra posted about it in the afternoon. Chopra, who hails from Khandra village near Panipat, was joined by his coach and buddy Jaiveer Singh and other friends, while Bindra was joined by his parents, Apjit and Babli Bindra, as the two champions spent the day together. 

Neeraj Chopra who has over six lakh followers on Twitter, tweeted about the meeting, and the two posed with their respective gold medals. “Took my Olympic medal to meet its elder sibling from Beijing today. Thank you @Abhinav bindra sir for your family’s warm hospitality and for “Tokyo” who I will cherish forever!”.

Chopra also posted a photo of himself holding the puppy while sitting on the floor of Bindra's drawing room and playing with his new pet.
