In a sensational development, a case has been registered against several individuals for alleged extortion and unlawful assembly due to their involvement in a brawl with Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw. As per reports, an ugly brawl took place after Team India cricketer Prithvi Shaw refused to give selfies to 8 individuals including a woman social media influencer. As per the complaint registered, Prithvi Shaw's refusal for a selfie led to the individuals attacking the Indian player and also pelting stones at his friend’s car. However, Prithvi Shaw's fight video tells a different story altogether. Reports also claimed that the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday when Shaw and his friends were leaving a hotel in Mumbai. The attack reportedly led to the car’s windscreen being broken. A case has now been registered against the attackers under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Oshiwara police registered a case against the accused under sections 143, 148,149, 384, 437, 504, 506 of IPC and have started an investigation.
However, Prithvi Shaw's viral fight video suggests that the brawl took place inside and outside a Mumbai nightclub. A freelance reporter named Mohsin shared the video and wrote, "Hustle video of #Cricketer #Prithvishaw & #influencer #Sapnagill outside Barrel mansion club in vile parle east #Mumbai, it is said that related to click photo with cricketer later whole fight started. " In the shared video, Prithvi Shaw can be seen pushing a girl. Furthermore, the girl can be seen crying and screaming in front of a cop and saying that Prithvi Shaw and his friends assaulted them and 'he cannot do anything just because he is a cricketer'. Another man can be heard in the video complaining to the Police that Prithvi Shaw's friends hit them including social media influencer Sapna Gill in the club.
A case has now been registered against the attackers under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Oshiwara police registered a case against the accused under sections 143, 148,149, 384, 437, 504, 506 of IPC and have started an investigation. "Oshiwara Police has registered a case against 8 persons over an alleged attack on the car of a friend of Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw after Shaw refused to take a selife for the second time with two people," Mumbai Police said in a statement.
