On Sunday, the Boxing Day Test between India and South Africa has commenced. And yet again Cheteshwar Pujara has failed to impress the cricket fans.  During the first day of 1st Test match, Pujara was dismissed for a golden duck by Lungi Ngidi caught at short leg. 

This was for the ninth time that Pujara got dismissed duck at No. 3 and has passed Dilip Vengsarkar, who was dismissed for eight times at No. 3. 

The top five ducks for India’s No. 3 batter are:-

  1. Pujara - 9 ducks
  2. Vengsarkar - 8 ducks
  3. Rahul Dravid - 7 ducks
  4. Mohinder Amarnath - 6 ducks
  5. Ajit Wadekar - 5 ducks 


Here’s how the batter lost his wicket:-

Ngidi delivered a bowl outside the off-stump line that came back slightly after pitching and grabbed the inside edge of Pujara's bat, struck his thigh guard, and bounced up in the air. The catch was easily grabbed by Keegan Petersen, who was situated at the forward short leg, and Pujara's inning came to an end.
