Pulwama Attack 2nd anniversary: Shewag, Gambhir, Harbhajan, among other cricketers pay tribute to Pulwama martyrs

The cricket fraternity took to their Twitter handle and paid emotional homage to the brave Indian army soldiers who died in the Pulwama attack in 2019, sharing on the 2nd anniversary of the Pulwama attack.

On 14th of February, India is paying homage to the brave Indian army soldiers who were killed in the Pulwama attack in 2019. Today marks the 2nd-anniversary of the Pulwama strike. Many Indian cricketers including Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman and Wasim Jaffer honoured the security personnel who gave their lives in a terrorist attack serving the nation. 

Remembering the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers killed in the cowardly strike, the entire cricket fraternity took to social media to bow to the brave hearts for sacrificing their lives while serving the nation in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on 14 February 2019. 

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir said in a Tweet, "India is not built by bricks & cement! It is the blood of our bravest which holds our country together! Never Forget! #PulwamaAttack.”

"Heartfelt Tributes to all Our Bravehearts Martyred in the #PulwamaAttack on Feb 14, 2019. The valour and sacrifice of our heroes will be remembered forever. Jai Hind," Sehwag said in a post on his Instagram account.

 

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batting coach Wasim Jaffer and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif too gave their heartfelt offerings to martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack. "Remembering our brave soldiers who laid down their lives at Pulwama to keep us safe #pulwamaattack," said Kaif.

Forty CRPF Jawans were killed in a terrorist attack which was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammad - a Pakistan-based terror group. After a suicide bomber hit his explosive-laden vehicle into an Indian convoy in Kashmir's Pulwama, leading to the deaths of the soldiers. 

Not just cricketers but people from all walks of life have stood in solidarity with the families who lost their dear ones in the tragic event.
