After the intense and scorching grip of heatwaves, different regions of Punjab will be witnessing relief with rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. According to the latest update by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), more than half of the state will be witnessing light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms.
As per the recent update by the IMD, the thunder and rain activity will commence from June 19, 2025, Thursday, across several cities of the states and will remain around until June 23, 2025, Monday.

June 19, 2025
Thursday
Bringing a minor or temporary relief in the weather conditions, cities including Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, and SAS Nagar (Mohali) will witness episodes of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Along with this, it is expected that rainfall will be witnessed in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Rupnagar.
June 20, 2025
Friday
The weather will take another turn, and the thunderstorms and rainfall will expand to more cities and regions of Punjab. As of June 20, the disturbance in weather will be reported in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar and Kapurthala.
Besides this, less to moderate rainfall will be reported in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Sangrur, and Gursdapur. However, moderate rainfall will be reported in Rupnagar and Mohali.

The western disturbance and rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds will be reported in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Taran Tarn, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur and Ludhiana.
Not just this, the regions including Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Rupanagar, Mohali, and Patiala will witness very heavy rainfall, and Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Sangur will see moderate to heavy rainfall.

Rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds will continue in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Taran Tarn, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur and Ludhiana.
According to IMD, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Rupanagar, Mohali, Patiala, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Tarn Taran and Sangur will see very heavy rainfall. The remaining regions of Punjab, including Ferozepur, Moga, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, and Barnala, will witness heavy rainfall.
