Sri Lanka vs India gets postponed, Krunal Pandya Tests Positive

This has created a doubt on opener Suryakumar Yadan and Prithvi Shaw, who are all set to play Test series against England.

The T20I match which was going to be held on Tuesday is postponed to Wednesday, because the all-rounder Krunal Pandya is tested positive and the match which is predicted to be on Wednesday will be performed after all the players test negative. The match was to be held between India and Sri Lanka.

It is now known that both the teams are forced to go through isolation. The sources said, “Krunal has tested positive and the T20I on Tuesday has been postponed and will happen on Wednesday if all the others test negative. The players are currently isolating.”

This has created a doubt on opener Suryakumar Yadan and Prithvi Shaw, who are all set to play Test series against England. On Monday, the BCCI told the All-Indi Senior Selection Committee has written the name of the openers for replacements for the Test series which are against England.

Even the injured players, Avesh Khan, Shubham Gill, and Washington Sundar is ruled out from the Test Series against England. During the three-day practice game against County Select XI, the all-rounder Washington Sundar has taken an injection on his right-hand bowling finger, and the rest of the players are under medical guidance.

"Following the Rapid Antigen Tests conducted ahead of the match on Tuesday morning, Team India all-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be positive. The Medical Teams have identified eight members as close contacts," the BCCI stated.

"The entire contingent is undergoing RT-PCR tests today to ascertain any further outbreak in the squad," further added.

BCCI has twittered, “NEWS : Krunal Pandya tests positive. Second Sri Lanka-India T20I postponed to July 28. The entire contingent is undergoing RT-PCR tests today to ascertain any further outbreak in the squad.”
