On May 1, 2025, the weather conditions took a swift turn across multiple regions of Punjab as suddenly, several states were experiencing strong winds, dust storms, and even light to moderate rain showers. 


Meanwhile, in Jalandhar, similar conditions have been noticed, along with power outages, which have caused disruptions and problems for residents. According to the reports, a similar condition was reported in regions like Amritsar and Ludhiana. 


It has been expected that this shift in weather conditions will bring relief to prevailing heatwave conditions. 


Jalandhar’s weather forecast for the upcoming week - 


May 2 - Hazy sun with a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Temperature is expected to remain between 38°C and 23°C. 
May 3 - Hazy sun with cloudy and breezy by afternoon, along with thunderstorms. The temperature might range between 38°C and 23°C. 
May 4 - Mostly cloudy, and the temperature range is expected to be 38°C to 23°C. 


Recommendations by IMD - 


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that multiple regions of Punjab will witness thunderstorms along with gusty winds in the upcoming days following May 1. During this time, the residents and citizens are advised to take all the possible precautionary measures, such as - 


 • Secure outdoor objects that may be blown away by strong winds.
 • Avoid sheltering under trees during thunderstorms.
 • Stay indoors during severe weather conditions.
 • Keep emergency kits and flashlights handy in case of power outages.


Besides this, the people of Punjab are also advised to stay informed as the state has been going through the transition from intense heat to lesser heat patterns.
