Tesla to launch prototype of humanoid robot next year, says Elon Musk

Elon Musk, on Thursday, said that the company would launch a human-like robot that would perform all the tasks which humans don’t like to perform.

On Thursday, at the company’s AI event, Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk said that the electric makers would launch “Tesla Bot,” by next year. Tesla Bot would be a human-like robot, designed to perform dangerous, repetitive, or boring work that people don't like to do. 
Speaking at the Tesla’s AI event, Musk said that the Humanoid prototype would perform every task, from attaching a bolt using wrenching to buying groceries from the grocery shop.

 Musk addressed the labour shortage and said, “The robot would have profound implications for the economy.” He further said that it is important to make a machine that is not ‘super-expensive.’
The AI Day event came amid the scrutiny over Tesla’s ‘Full Self-Driving’ advanced driver assistant system. Tesla's CEO did not comment on the scrutiny but showed confidence in achieving full self-driving with high safety, as compared to current human driving.
A safety investigation case was opened by US safety regulatory after the accidents caused by Tesla cars, where cars crashed into stationary police cars and fire trucks.

Two U.S. senators have also called on the Fair Trade Commission to investigate Tesla's claims for its "Full Self-Driving" system. 
On Thursday, Elon also revealed chips designed for its high-speed computer, Dojo and said that Dojo would be operational by next year.
