Patriotic stories, both fictitious and true, have recently taken over OTT. Over time, the digital sphere has produced some riveting tales of bravery, patriotism, and heroism for viewers.

True Scoop has compiled a list of 12 patriotic web series to watch this Independence day.


Jeet Ki Zid

This new online series is based on the true story of Major Deependra Singh Sengar, a retired Indian Army special forces officer who was paralysed from the waist down during the Kargil War, but whose unwavering attitude enabled him get back on his feet. Major Deependra was played by Amit Sadh, who was directed by Vishal Mangalorkar. It's available on ZEE5.


The Family Man season 1 and 2


Srikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee, is a secret intelligence officer whose tale is told in this spy drama. While his character must defend his nation from terrorists on the one hand, he must also protect his family from the consequences of his work on the other. On Amazon Prime, you can watch the tense action drama.

Monica Mehra, an army lawyer played by Jennifer Winget, is tasked with solving what appears to be an easy and clear case involving the murder of an army officer and two militant suspects killed in an encounter. As the facts become clearer, she realises that the situation is far more complicated than it looks. Rajat Kapoor, Seema Biswas, and Tanuj Virwani also star. It can be found on ALT Balaji and Zee5.

The Forgotten Army - Azaadi ke Liye
The series by Kabir Khan is based on true occurrences. It chronicles the actual story of the men and women who served in the Indian National Army, commanded by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, in the fight for India's freedom from the British Raj. Sunny Kaushal, Vicky Kaushal's younger brother, and Sharvari Wagh play pivotal parts. It's available on Amazon Prime.

The spy thriller is based on Indian intelligence's participation in a succession of real-life terror strikes in India over the previous 19 years, notably the Mumbai 26/11 assaults. In major roles, it features Kay Kay Menon, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, and others. The online series was directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair and is accessible on Disney + Hotstar.

Avrodh: The Siege Within

21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897

A historical play based on the real-life Battle of Saragarhi, which pitted British Indian Army Sikh soldiers against Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. A battalion of 21 Sikh troops defends their outpost against an onslaught by nearly 10,000 Afghan forces in this series. Mohit Raina plays Havildar Ishar Singh, Mukul Dev plays Gul Badshah, and Alexx O'Nell plays Winston Churchill. It's streaming on Netflix.

Bose Dead or Alive
Raj Kummar Rao portrays Subhash Chandra Bose in this web serial. The series has revealed the unsolved mysteries from Netaji's struggle of independence against the British till his death.It is streaming on MX Player.

Bard of Blood
The narrative of Emraan Hashmi's character, an ex-IIW agent, is told in this Indian spy thriller. The series is based on Bilal Siddiqi's 2015 espionage book of the same name. Kirti Kulhari, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sobhita Dhulipala are among the cast members. It may be viewed on Netflix.

Captain Shikha Sharma, played by Nimrit Kaur, is the sole female in a group of Indian Army officers preparing to join the Special Forces, and the film is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Akshay Oberoi, Atul Kulkarni, and Anup Soni play key parts in the film. It can be found on ALT Balaji and ZEE5.

POW: Bandhi Yudh Ke

This political thriller series follows the lives of two soldiers who reunite with their families after nearly 17 years of imprisonment. The narrative is partly based on 'Hatufim,' an Israeli play. Amrita Puri, Sandhya Mridul, Purab Kohli, and Satyadeep Mishra play key parts in the film. It's available to watch on Hotstar.
