Tokyo 2020: Know Why Gymnast Pranati Nayak Didn’t Qualify For All Round Finals

On Sunday, at the Tokyo Olympics, India’s lone gymnast Pranati Nayak wasn’t failed to qualify for the All Round finals of the Artistic Gymnastics competition. The total score recorded by the 26-year-olds was 42.565 at the Ariake Gymnastic centre, the total score was the sum total of the four categories i.e. floor exercise, vaults, uneven bars, and balance beam.

At the end of the subdivision 2 she is now ranked as 29th overall. In all, there are 5 subdivisions, the best score across all the 4 apparatus which are 24 gymnasts at present and they are going to qualify for the All-Around final, which will be held on July 29.

The respective individual events are going to be held from August 1 to 3, the top 8 gymnasts will qualify for these events. However, Pranati Nayak completes all the events at the bottom half.

In uneven bars, she came up with a score of 9.033 with a difficulty of 4.100 and execution of 4.933, in the balance beam, she scored 9.433 with difficulty 4.500 and execution 4.933.

In the floor apparatus, she scored 10.633 with trouble, of 4.400 and execution of 6.233, before producing a score of 13.466 in the vault with a difficulty of 5.000 and execution of 8.466.

The reason behind this is that she had no preparatory time after qualifying for the continental quota, then the 9th Senior Asian Championship got cancelled which were to be held in China due to the pandemic.
