'I was on TV too': Punjab CM takes a swipe at Navjot Kaur over 'Sidhu may return if made CM-face'

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday took a swipe at state opposition leaders. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann not only took a dig at Navjot Kaur Sidhu's remarks that Navjot Singh Sidhu may return to politics if made CM-face but also suggested that Captain Amarinder should resign from BJP.

Addressing the media, CM Mann said, "One leader has said that either make me CM or I am doing fine working on Television. I was also on Television. I was also earning from Television. Did I do any favour by quitting Television? But, I never returned to the TV world. I am continuously working here. He says either make me CM or I am fine on TV."

CM Mann also outlined Captain Amarinder's latest remarks in which he said that he misses Congress. CM Mann said, "Captain Amarinder is now slamming BJP saying nobody listens to him. If nobody is listening to you why don't you resign from the party?"

As per reports, Navjot Kaur Sidhu who is currently suspended from Congress by the PPCC has indicated that her husband (Navjot Singh Sidhu) could return to active politics if the Congress party names him as its chief ministerial candidate for Punjab.

Navjot Kaur had said that Sidhu is currently happy earning his living but would step back into politics to serve the state if given the opportunity.

On the other hand, former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder in an interview with a news channel said that Congress had wronged him in several ways, and this is why he parted ways with the party. However, the former Punjab CM admitted that he still 'misses Congress' to some extent.

He also outlined that he rarely gets to meet with BJP's High Command, adding that the party works with 'strict internal rules'. Captain expressed that even for upcoming 2027 Punjab Elections, no-one from the BJP has asked him about who should fight polls from where.
