Although no official statement has been issued by the police or administration so far, a close relative of the doctor confirmed that a threat call was received. The family member, however, maintained that the situation is under control and appropriate steps have been taken to ensure safety.

Due to security reasons, True Scoop is not disclosing the identity of the doctor. The incident comes amid a rise in extortion and threat cases linked to gangsters in Punjab in recent months.
