The election process for the prestigious Jullundur Gymkhana Club has officially begun, with the nomination process starting on Monday, August 17. The elections for various key posts in the club will be held on August 30, 2026.
According to official orders issued by the Office of the Returning Officer, the election process will continue over the next two weeks, beginning with the filing of nominations and ending with voting later this month.
The latest update comes after the office of the Returning Officer, which is functioning under the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jalandhar-I, issued separate communications regarding the election schedule and the publication of the final electoral roll.
As per the official notification, the nomination process will remain open from August 17 to August 22 and candidates interested in contesting the elections can submit their nomination papers at the Jullundur Gymkhana Club premises between 11 am and 3 pm every day during the six-day nomination period.
The office of the Returning Officer has directed the Tehsildar, Jalandhar-I, who has been appointed as the Assistant Returning Officer, to oversee the nomination process and receive the nomination papers from candidates and the appointment of the Assistant Returning Officer was made through orders issued by the Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, who also serves as the President of Jullundur Gymkhana Club, on August 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, another major development in the election process is the publication of the final electoral roll and the list of eligible voters for the 2026 elections has been sent to the club administration for publication.
The Returning Officer's office has instructed the Honorary Secretary of the club to display the final electoral roll on multiple platforms to ensure that members have easy access to it and the electoral roll will be made available through the following channels:

The club's website
The final voter list will be used during the elections scheduled for August 30.

Ten members of the Executive Committee
The Executive Committee plays a key role in the administration and functioning of the club, making these elections significant for members who participate in the decision-making process and management of club affairs and, now with the nomination process now underway, members interested in contesting the elections have less than a week to submit their applications.
The election to the Jullundur Gymkhana Club, one of Jalandhar's oldest and most prominent social institutions, will conclude with voting on August 30, 2026, after the completion of all scheduled election-related formalities.
