

Around 10 schools of Jalandhar on Monday morning received bomb threat email. After receiving bomb threat, school administration messaged students' parents to pick them up and also informed the police administration. Following that anti-sabotage teams and police official reached schools to carry out searches. Schools of Jalandhar have received bomb threat days after 15 schools of Amritsar received similar threat. But, later it turned out to be false.
As per information received, schools in Jalandhar received bomb threat email on December 15 at 9:10 am. The mail has been sent from username 'Leonila Thompson'. The threatening mail advocates for making Punjab a separate nation called 'Khalistan'. It also mentions 'Khalistan Referendum', 'Ballot vs Bomb'. The mail also incorporates a picture that asks people about 'Khalistan Referendum'.
Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Aggarwal on Monday addressed a joint press conference. The press conference was called after multiple schools of Jalandhar received bomb threat emails.
Jalandhar CP Dhanpreet Kaur addressing the media assured the residents and parents that there is no need to panic and anti-sabotage teams are carrying out intensive search in schools. However, till now, no suspicious object has been found.
CP Dhanpreet Kaur further stated that in total there were 10 schools that received the threatening email.
"10 schools have received threat emails. Point of origin of the email sender is being checked. Under ACP and DCP teams matter being investigated. Anti-Sabotage teams are currently checking schools that have received threatening email. Three Email ids have come. We are trying to find out source of the sender. There is no need to panic and as of now no suspicious objects have been found."
