

Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government's Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana is likely to roll out soon. Due to Punjab floods and Tarn Taran byelection. the implementation of Punjab Government's Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana is delayed, however, it has been run on pilot basis in Tarn Taran and Barnala.
According to reports, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is expected to roll out Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana by next year i.e. 2026. Under this scheme, residents are Punjab will be eligible for cashless medical treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh per year.
Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is first-of-its-kind scheme in the country to provide cashless medical treatment worth Rs 10 lakh to residents of the state.
Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna scheme is expected to benefit the entire population of three crore residents, and over 500 private hospitals have been empaneled for the scheme so far, and the number will be enhanced to 1000 in the coming days.
In July 2025, CM Mann had informed that the government will make a health card. The health cardholders can get treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh in private as well as Government hospitals.
However, people who could not get health cards can still get cashless treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh.
Under the scheme, a family can avail cashless treatment up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh in a year. If required, the benefit can be availed again after one year. A total of 1,950 treatment packages will be available in both government and empanelled private hospitals.
A key feature of the scheme is its universal coverage. Regardless of income status, every resident of Punjab will be eligible to apply for a Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna Health Card.
According to reports, list of hospitals to be empanelled under this scheme is almost ready, ensuring that patients suffering from serious illnesses such as cancer can receive treatment at nearby hospitals.
Reports further suggest that the existing Ayushman Bharat scheme will continue alongside Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana Scheme. Beneficiaries will still be entitled to medical coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat in addition to the new Rs 10 lakh scheme.
The scheme will be applicable only to permanent residents of Punjab. People who have come to the state for employment purposes will not be eligible to apply for the card.
Health cards can be made at Sehat Card service centres, Common Service Centres (CSCs), or through online platforms.
